Gottfried von Haberler Conference 2023

Taking Money out of Politics: A case for Private Money?

Globally, governments have maintained the sole right of money creation and issuance of tender. Over time, to further their own self-interests, central banks and the ruling elites in governments have developed creative methods to slash their citizens’ wealth by inflating and devaluing these currencies. The Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) being the latest of these tools that come with grave dangers for civil liberties and the sovereignty of people.

Is there a case for Friedrich A. von Hayek’s “Denationalization of Money”?

The XVII Gottfried von Haberler Conference will take up these topics and hear from the most distinguished international scholars in the field. Participate in a general discussion regarding pressing monetary policy issues and potential viable alternatives to the status quo.
