H.S.H. Prince Michael von und zu Liechtenstein

 

H.S.H. Prince Michael von und zu Liechtenstein (LI) is a resident of the Principality of Liechtenstein. He studied economics and business administration at the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien and graduated with a Master Degree in Business Administration (Magister der Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaft). His studies included also various practical training periods and work with banks and manufacturing companies in the US, Canada and Belgium (Brussels). From 1978 to 1987 he has been working in the international food industry with Nestlé. First in controlling and financial management in various markets in Europe and Africa, later in the general management in a foreign subsidiary and finally in marketing management for frozen food in Europe.

After his return to Liechtenstein in 1987 he became President of the Industrie- & Finanzkontor, a financial services and trust company based in Vaduz. In 2011 Prince Michael founded the Geopolitical Information Service (GIS) and serves as its chairman. He is also the founding President of ECAEF, the European Center of Austrian Economics Foundation, a leading public policy think tank based in Vaduz. In appreciation for his tireless work to promote free markets, private property and limited government, Prince Michael has been honored with an academic Festschrift in 2016.
